our story

We are so grateful and excited to share our special day with you all!

We can’t discuss our love story without talking about the city that originally brought us together - St. Augustine, Florida. Allison had visited there previously, falling in love with the charm of the downtown and the beauty of the ocean. Jesse, on the other hand, had never heard of such a city until he found out there existed a physical therapy school that didn’t care very much about GPA there. Thank goodness for that.

Our first meeting was unremarkable, during some awkward, introduce-yourself-give-a-fun-fact exercise on the first day of Physical Therapy school. Some casual, cordial hellos followed in the coming weeks and months, as both of us settled into our studies. We slowly grew together as classmates and friends.

But the roots of our connection truly began to take hold during a professional conference in Chicago. As mere PT students at the largest gathering of experts in our field, the group attending moved like a school of fish in a vast ocean. Throughout the course of that weekend, we found ourselves magnetized to one another.

After returning back to St. Augustine, Allison had agreed to let Jesse teach her the basics of lifting weights. In return, Jesse got to lean on Allison as a consistent study buddy. Through many early morning workouts and endless study sessions, our friendship deepened. We pushed each other, struggled together, celebrated our wins and softened each other’s set-backs. We goofed around and laughed and talked about everything under the sun, and realized how great of a pair we could be.

Several years passed, including a global pandemic, internships, licensure examinations, and relocations. We made a home in Atlanta and settled into our careers; our bond growing all the while.

Finally, the two decided that it was time to make their partnership permanent and lawfully binding. A verbal contract was made and signed symbollically by the receiving party, hereafter referred to as “Allison”, with a ring, by the asking party hereto referred to as “Jesse”. You are now invited to celebrate this union. This is their wedding.
